Newspapers and Magazines: Personal Accounts

Access to the digital edition of several periodicals requires personal registration using your Union email account. Learn more about these resources and how to register.

Periodicals with Free Individual Subscriptions

The Atlantic

  1. Visit The Atlantic's registration page.
  2. Search for "Union College NY" under the institution search page.
  3. Log in with your Union College Credentials.

  1.  Visit the Bloomberg sign in page and enter your Union email address.
  2.  You can change your regional news preference from your Account Settings page.

The Chronicle of Higher Education

  1. You need to register using a computer connected to the Union network. Visit The Chronicle's main page.
  2. Click on Sign In and then on the Sign Up button.
  3. Register using your Union email.

  1. Visit The Economist main page.
  2. Click "Log in" at the top right corner.
  3. Enter your Union email address in the top field (no password is needed).
  4. Click Log In to access your Union account.

  1. Visit the Financial Times registration page and log in with your Union information.
  2. Complete the account set-up information.

  1. Visit The New York Times registration page to sign-up with your Union email address.
  2. Once registered, you can access the digital NYT using browsers and apps.
  3. The subscription is valid as long as you are affiliated with Union.
  4. The fastest way to renew/reactivate your subscription is to create an account using your Union credentials.

  1. Visit The Wall Street Journal's main page and log in with your Union information.
  2. Once on the "Create Account" page, please use your Union email for registration.
  3. You are set! You can also use apps to link to your subscription.

  1. Visit  The Washington Post registration page to sign-up with your Union email address. If you already have a Washington Post account with your Union email address, log in to washingtonpost.com with your account credentials.
  2. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Click Account Settings, make sure your email address is verified, if not, click "Unverified" to be sent a verification email.
  4. Once verified through email, click the Subscription & Billing tab.
  5. Click "Activate free digital access".
  6. Once registered, you can access the digital Washington Post using browsers and apps.

Local Periodicals with Free Accounts

Albany Business Review Banner

  1. Go to the ABR Registration Page
  2. Enter your Union email address when creating an account.
  3. Join the "Union College University Pass" Group Subscription option.

The Daily Gazette (Schenectady)

  1. Visit The Daily Gazette's registration page.
  2. Enter your information and use your Union email address.
  3. You will be directed to another page and an activation email will be sent to you.
  4. Check your email for a verification email.

  1. Visit the Times Union main page.
  2. Select "Sign In" at the top of the page, followed by "Create Account".
  3. Use your Union College email address and create a password.
  4. Check your email for a verification email.

You can access Flipster Digital Magazines by using your Union information, or you'll be automatically logged in if signing in while on campus.
