Printing Information

The Pharos Terminal Terminal has replaced the PC Release Station and now controls printing and copying.

All of the public access computers in the Schaffer Library are configured to send print jobs to printer/copiers located across from the Reference Desk and in the Copy Room on the first floor. Most computers are equipped with Microsoft "viewer" utilities so that you may view and print your own Word and Excel documents from a memory stick, an email, or the Internet. A few of the Library's workstations are fully equipped with Microsoft Office to allow for editing files before printing.

Printing costs $0.05 per page.  Detailed instructions are outlined below. Once you give the print command you will be presented with a "Print Job Details" pop up which asks you to enter your Union College username, followed by another pop up to enter your Union College password.

Make sure Printer default is set to Union-Campus Printing

Use the touch screen by the Printer/Copier to choose "Printing" or "Copying."

Place your student ID card near the proximity reader.

First time users will be prompted to register their ID card, login with your Union College credentials (same as email). Example: jsmith - do not enter @garnet.union.edu - and password. Once you have registered your card you just need to swipe your ID to release the print que.

Release your selected print job(s) OR make your copies as normal and your account will be charged accordingly.

Don't forget to logout by pressing "Exit" on the touch screen.
