An eclectic collection of sources related to LGBTQ+ History at Union, drawn primarily from Special Collections and Archives, as well as physical and digital sources on local and national queer history.

Examples of Faculty Work

  • Suzie Benack, former Professor of Psychology who retired in 2019, has several publications on LGBTQ+ Topics, including:
  • Mary Guerrant, Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, is an active researcher of health disparities among LGBTQ+ populations. See their website here.
  • Martha Huggins, a Professor of Sociology at Union from 1979-2003, focused her professional research on human rights abuses in Brazil. She is cited as an “‘expert witness’ for LGBT Brazilians seeking asylum in the U.S.” See an overview of her work here.
