Did you know?

A book in your library's physical collection is discoverable via its catalog record in the Summon index. The physical book is also discoverable via full-text searching of e-books from various providers. The Match and Merge technology within the Summon service matches your catalog record with the full-text record and presents the print record to your patron.

Can I see a Referring Source in action?
Here is a fun exercise to look at 360 link in action and see a sidebar helper frame:

  • 1) Click this link to Google Scholar.
  • 2) In the "Library Links" field, search for "Bates" and click on the Find Institution button. Once you find it, put a check mark next to Bates College - Bates Article Linker and click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page. You can do this for Union also but our sidebar is set to disappear after about 2 seconds.
  • 3) You should now be back to the main Google Scholar page. Search for "trees."
  • 4) Click on any link that says "Bates Article Linker." A 360 Link results page should open. (You'll be able to tell because the URL will contain "".)
