A geographic Information System (GIS) integrates hardware, software and data for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information. A GIS allows you to map where things are, map quantities, map densities, analyse spatial relationships and visualize data and statistics in ways that reveal interactions and patterns.
A GIS also offers a visualization which can make the data easier to understand, especially if the datasets are very large and we are looking at more than one variable. Listed here are examples of GIS visualizations and storytelling.
