Collections in Archives Unbound cover a broad range of topics from the Middle Ages forward-from Witchcraft to World War II to twentieth-century political history. Collections are chosen for Archives Unbound based on requests from scholars, archivists, and students.
Offers powerful searching and interactive browsing by region, quotations with a complete bibliography, and maps illustrating where words were collected. The addition of DARE Survey data and audio recordings provides a dynamic resource for understanding the nature of words and their usage.
Contains digital facsimile page images of virtually every work printed in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and British North America and works in English printed elsewhere from 1473-1700. Topics covered range from literature, to religion, to politics, and more.
Contains eleven major editions from the First Folio of 1623 to the Cambridge edition of 1863-6, twenty-eight separate contemporary printings of individual plays and poems, selected apocrypha and related works. In the great majority of cases texts have been captured entire, with all introductions, prefaces, appendices, indices, notes editorial and authorial, essays, tables, figures, illustrations etc. reproduced in full. Hypertext links have been created to connect editorial matter to the texts whenever possible. Where omissions have been made they are noted in the relevant bibliographic entry.
The collection offers full-text searching of 26 million pages of material, in essence, every significant English-language and foreign- language title printed in the United Kingdom, along with thousands of important works from the Americas. Materials include books, pamphlets, and broadsides in all subjects printed between 1701 to 1800.
Offers exhaustive coverage of the prodigious dramatic literature of the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods, as well as Restoration plays, medieval morality plays and mystery cycles, and nineteenth-century closet dramas. The database contains works acted on or intended for the stage. It includes masques, interludes, short dramatic pieces, translations and adaptations, closet dramas, and works written for children. Each text is reproduced in full, as is accompanying text written by the playwright and forming an integral part of the play, such as epigraphs, castlists, and notes. Commendatory and prefatory poems by the playwright and others have also been included.
A bibliographic database that cites 65,000 essays contained in some 5,300 anthologies and collections and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada. More than 300 volumes are indexed annually. Full bibliographic information on collective titles are indexed as well. Topics covered include art history & criticism, architecture & architectural history, archaeology, antiques, museum studies, graphic arts, industrial design, landscape architecture, interior design, folk art, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, decorative arts, costume design, television and video, motion pictures, advertising art, non-western art, textiles and much more.
Contains the works of 50 poets comprising 140 volumes of poetry. The authors are all part of the Faber Poetry list and the database enjoys the active support of the publisher and the poets or their estates. The entire text of each poem has been included. Indexes of titles and first lines, prefatory material and notes have been excluded. The date of first publication indicates the date of first publication by Faber and Faber.
