We purchase streaming licenses that allow you to share links via Nexus or allow streaming for classroom / educational use.

Once you have found the streaming video you want to use in class, it's best to use the "permalink" feature that many databases offer. This ensures that your link will work on or off campus. Here are a few examples on how to find the permalink:

• Academic Videos Online: use "All Options" then click the "Document URL" link at the top of the screen to copy the link.
• Docuseek: choose "My Account" at the top of the screen, then find your movie on the list. Click "Link/Embed" for options.
• Kanopy and Swank: use the "Share" button to get the URL to the movie

Electronic classrooms at Union College are equipped with DVD playback equipment and software. Faculty may check out a DVD for classroom screening, or place an item on Course Reserve for short-term library building use. The Schaffer Library Service Desk has external disc drives available for short-term loan to play AV media placed on reserve.
